Anthropic’s published model runs L0 through L4. We follow it exactly through the published ladder, then extend it one level for the businesses Anthropic’s model wasn’t written for. L5 is the field reality.

Where The Framework Stops

Anthropic’s deployment guide is excellent — and explicitly written for enterprises with internal teams. Three gaps define PCC’s wedge.

No operator role in the model

Anthropic's L4 is a plugin a department head maintains. Owner-operators don't have a department head. Someone has to operate the operator — that's PCC.

Assumes clean enterprise systems

The published guide says "connect to Salesforce." SMBs don't have Salesforce — they have Square, GHL, QuickBooks, Gmail, iMessage, Drive. The SMB data layer needs different connector work.

Framework caps at L4

Anthropic's ladder ends at department-level plugin bundles. PCC has been operating L5 — the Compressed Operator Stack — in the field for nine months. The framework hasn't caught up to the work yet.
